Dead Rising 2 rumors have been flying for the past few days, unfortunately for every zombie killing enthusiast out there, Capcom was quick to deny that rumor. In an upcoming issue of Famitsu, Kotaku reported that Capcom’s Keiji Inafune confirmed the game as well as going multiplatform.
“We’re finally putting out new Dead Rising and Lost Planet games! As a main principle we’re thinking about multiplatform, and expanding upon both slightly from the Xbox 360 version.”
Capcom quickly denied this saying there was a “mistranslation”, blaming the language barrier.
“Dead Rising was a huge success for us and is obviously the kind of game we’d like to continue to make. However, at the moment we have made no official announcement regarding a sequel. As the source is Famitsu, I can only suggest that it was a mistranslation.”
Personally, I’d love to see a new Dead Rising game this year. The first did well enough to make a sequel and there was a rumor a few months ago that Blue Castle was developing the game. I wouldn’t be surprised in the least bit if Dead Rising 2 was confirmed soon.
