Coming in the wake of Midway Newcastle’s closing, Midway has confirmed to EndSights that the Necessary Force intellectual property remains the sole property of their company, and is currently up for sale.

“At this point it remains an asset of Midway and is available for purchase. We have not disclosed any other plans for the IP,” Midway spokesman Geoffrey Mogilner told me in an e-mail conversation.

So it appears that a game called Necessary Force could be coming out at some point in the future, pending if Midway can find a suitor for it. It’s just a shame that the team that birthed it won’t have an opportunity to ship it.
