Today Konami confirmed today via their teaser site that the next Metal Gear Solid game will be coming to the iPhone and iTouch early next year. Metal Gear Solid Touch is said to have Solid Snake going through eight stages with promise of additional stages later. The stages are said to resemble locales and characters from Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.This won’t be the first Metal Gear game to come to your mobile device. Metal Gear Solid Mobile was released by Ideaworks3D.

Along side Metal Gear Solid Mobile, Konami said they are working on multiple games for these Apple products. Also announced was Frogger, Silent Hill: The Escape, and DanceDanceRevolution S Lite. Konami plans to support these titles in the future and would like to continue working with Apple.The Vice President of online and mobile, Anthony Borquez, says “We welcome the iPhone and iPod Touch to our product line-up and look forward to these initial games”.
