If for some strange reason you have yet to pick up last year’s zombie infested hit Left 4 Dead and are on the fence on whether or not you’ll want to jump into the sequel, Valve has confirmed that a multiplayer demo of the game will be released before the game ships to retailers later this year.
“With Left 4 Dead in particular we’ve found that word of mouth really is the strongest thing,” Valve’s VP of Marketing Doug Lombardi told OXM UK. “With Left 4 Dead 2 we plan to do a demo before the game comes out that’ll have multiplayer in it. And hopefully we can continue the free weekends with the full game post-launch.”
With Left 4 Dead selling like hotcakes and Left 4 Dead 2 pre-orders through the roof, I don’t think the demo was really necessary to help out with building up the game’s visibility. That being said, I’m not complaining.
