Last week at E3, both Microsoft and Sony announced their own motion control technologies. To Nintendo’s President — that’s all well and good — but Nintendo’s moving forward.
“So, I am not in a position to judge whether they are a threat or not,” Saturo Iwata, Nintendo’s President and CEO told the Times UK. “And they should bear in mind that over the next year Nintendo will not be standing still. We’re always at work on something new. I am actually looking forward to engaging in that sort of competition, because it gives our whole industry the chance to expand the gaming population.”
What “new” thing is Nintendo working on, Iwata did not say, and I’m not even going to begin to speculate. After the DS and the Wii, trying to guess where Nintendo’s going is a fools game.
