EA has announced the first set of downloadable content for Need for Speed: Shift. Entitled the Team Racing pack, the DLC will launch, for free, on December 1 on the 360, and December 10 on the PS3.
As the name implies, the pack adds an entirely new online racing mode to the game’s multiplayer component, allowing up to six friends to simultaneously race as a team against another up-to-six-player squad. “Individual driving strategy and playing it safe won’t work as team tactics and 200 mph split-second decisions are required to push your team to the podium,” or so says a company press release.
For the friendless, the pack also contains five cars:
- 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 427
- 1967 Shelby GT-500
- 1969 Dodge Charger R/T
- 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T
- 1998 Toyota Supra Mark IV
Good move on EA’s part – making the DLC free. Perhaps it will entice some players to put away their copies of Forza 3 long enough to jump back into Shift. Are you planning on it?
