It’s been five years since the last true installment in the Gran Turismo franchise was released, but it seems overseas markets will have to wait a bit longer before jumping into their next “real driving simulator” experience.
Speaking with Autoweek, Gran Turismo 5 creator Kazunori Yamauchi acknowledged that the hotly anticipated sequel has been officially dated only for a Japanese release (the game will hit stores there in March), but “for other regions, it has not been decided yet.”
When asked for specifics as to why, the reply was pretty simple: “That’s more depending on SCEA marketing decisions.”
If taken at face value, it seems that the game would be ready to release in March in the States as well, but Sony, for whatever reason, has been lax on creating a profitable marketing strategy. I’m sure they have their reasons, but for now GT5 is joining EyePet on the list of games delayed (apparently) due to marketing issues.
