Wii Friends Made Easy

Getting online with your Wii and playing with friends is more of a hassle than it needs to be, I think we all can agree on that. I don’t know many people who fully understand the concept of Nintendo’s friend codes. Exchanging Wii friend codes that are 16 numbers long, then exchanging a friend code for a single game is 9 numbers long. It’s a hassle, there’s no doubt about it.

Recently, I came across a blog posted by Chris Pirillo that talked about a website dedicated to making friends on the Wii. While I wouldn’t actually say it makes it easy, it does take out some of the hassle of finding people to play with.

The site is Wiiff.com. There you can register for a profile, post your Wii’s information and friend codes, and then look around the site for other people who want to play. I’ve spent some time on the site and it’s really easy to use and find people looking to play specific games.

If you look a little deeper into the site, more than likely the forum area, you’ll more than likely find a number of tournaments running. Without even looking I found two different tournaments for Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Not only will you be able to post your codes and skill level for individual games, but you’ll be able to accumulate points on the site to show off your overall awesomeness.

Since Nintendo clearly isn’t going to do anything to ease the pain of playing games online with the Wii, I’m glad the Nintendo community is doing something.
